CLEANING AND RESTORATION

We wash using traditional Persian methods.
We wash oriental rugs at our Evanston, Chicago plant in the traditional Persian way using water and a special soap, washing and then rinsing them thoroughly in a way that takes more time and skill, yet costs no more than other oriental rug cleaning services. Our cleaning method brings back and preserves the beauty of your oriental rugs. We also have sun-drying facilities in the spring and summer. You need to have a professional person that recognizes dyes that might run during the cleaning process and has a place for washing and hanging rugs and the personnel to handle the weight of the rug which is 3 to 4 times heavier when cleaned and wet. This kind of care and attention is not done with surface cleaning and as long as customers cannot recognize the difference they will really think their oriental rug has been properly cleaned.

Most rug cleaning services clean only the front and back surfaces of oriental rugs with a soap foam and then hang the rugs to dry. This short-cut method leaves soap and dirt residue deep within the rug. In time, with this process, the fibers will become stiff, dingy, and susceptible to dry rot. Some will bleach the fringe to give it a very white color which will eventually cause the fringe to fall apart.

We would be happy to take customers into our plant and show them how we wash and clean the rugs. There is no better way to care for your rugs than the service we offer. Even when our customers move to other areas they pay the expense to ship their oriental rugs to us because they recognize the results of our washing, the care we take when cleaning the rugs and our attention to detail.
